Our History

James Wiltshire has a proud history spanning over 30 years in the insurance broking business.

1974
The Company was founded in Flinders Lane, Melbourne

1980
The location was changed to Charman Road, Cheltenham

1982
Became a principal member of the National Insurance Brokers Association.

1986
The business was purchased by two employees, Michael Emsley and John Dawson.

1989
Brian Smith was made a Director of James Wiltshire.

1992
All Directors completed ongoing training to become Qualified Practicing Insurance Brokers (QPIB).

1997
Joined IBNA, a buying network of over 100 Brokers Australia wide.

2000
Purchased the business’s of Arthur Bryan P/L and Brian Golding P/L. Brian Golding was made a Director.

2002
All Directors fulfilled the requirements of the Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) under National code FBN 50399.
