Brian Golding began his career in the Insurance Industry
in 1962 in the claims department of Royal Exchange Atlas and after
3 years moved to general underwriting.
Royal then merged with Guardian Exchange to become GRE where Brian moved into
the Broker Service area.
His broad experience led him into the Broking area himself and he set up Brian
Golding Insurance in Moorabbin where he worked for 23 years before merging
his business with James Wiltshire and becoming a partner.
Brian Smith started with Union Insurance Society of Canton
in 1966 writing cover notes, and quickly moved up into the General Underwriting
Area.
Following mergers with other insurers Brian ended up in the Dandenong branch
as Assistant Manager with GRE Insurance.In 1974 he was appointed as an Insurance
Inspector.
In 1982 he became a Professional Agent with GRE and set up his own business
in Moorabbin. In 1989 he merged his business into James Wiltshire and became
a partner.
John Dawson began his Insurance career in 1965 with Union
Insurance Society of Canton as an underwriters assistant. He rapidly scaled
the ladder to the posistion of Fire and Accident Underwriter and re-insurance.
In 1972 he was elevated to Broker Liason Officer servicing International Brokers.In
1974 he became an agent servicing his own clients as well as looking after
the requirements of suburban Brokers.
In 1981 he joined James Wiltshire Pty Ltd as Underwriting Manager and in 1987
bought the business with Michael Emsley.
Michael Emsley began his career in Advertising and Public
Relations and became Advertising Manager for Glo-Weave shirts responsible for
all National advertising including the famous in 'Melbourne Tonight' and Graham
Kennedy.
He began his own business in the clothing industry as an Agent and also
as a designer and manufacturer of specialist menswear.
In 1980 he joined James Wiltshire as Sales and Marketing Manager which saw
the beginning of a period of growth for the Company and in 1987, together with
John Dawson, he bought the business.
